Kobe on SLAM cover #175

SLAM ONLINE just released it's newest cover with a side profile look of Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant. Past covers have inked a more celebratory and confident Kobe, however this particular cover shows a more worried and unsure Black Mamba...with a perfect subtle use of gold.

The cover, whether timed appropriately or not is titled, "24 - Can Kobe Beat The Clock". This couldn't be any truer since Kobe's out for another six weeks due to a fracture in his left knee. Critics are saying it's time for Kobe to throw in the towel, while fans are sticking by his side waiting for his second return of the season.

In Kobe's season debut coming off his devastating torn achilles, he averaged 14 PTS/4 REB/6 AST in six games. The team won two of those games. This recent knee injury is a huge blow, especially after the Lakers were finally finding cohesiveness having won 2 of their last 3 games with Kobe in the lineup.

SLAM ONLINE will have more details about what to expect inside the issue once it hits newsstands next week.
