How much should Kobe make in the 2014-2015 season?

Hey folks we just added a poll to the website asking fans what they think Kobe should earn after the 2013/14 NBA season. I for one, believe he should take no more than $10-million. If Kobe wants more than that after this season, it will negatively impact the chances of a great rebuild for the franchise.

Tim Duncan is making $10.3-million for the next two seasons. Everyone saw how close the Spurs got to beating the Heat. I still fault Popovich for losing that series.

If Kobe truly wants to retire with another championship ring, he should think twice about salary negotiations.

High team payrolls do not win championships, high team chemistry does. This couldn't be any truer than last season's end result for the Lakers. Besides, even with Vitti's long hours of bandaging and attempted Mr. Miyagi healing, the players couldn't really get out of the hole they got into from the inevitable downfall of an aging roster.

Check out this great article from ESPN's Ramona Shelburne about Jim Buss' upcoming inaugural season as head of Lakers ops: http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/9660465/jim-buss-comes-los-angeles-lakers
