Changing of the 1 guard
Lets face it in order for the Lakers to be #1 they'll need to improve at the #1. The most common weakness for L.A. is at the PG position. Having the admission to keep D. Fish at the starting position because of his veteran ship and because it's the right thing to do will plague this organization. Kobe and Gasol desperately need help offensively and Derek and Steve are not helping. Discard all other theories, this is the reality of L.A.'s blemish.
I just don't get it, Fisher is one of the best shooters in the league. He just needs to shoot more rather that orchestrate the triangle. He only averaged 6 shot attempts in the regular season. I don't care if you have Bird's range, Allen's form, and Miller's stroke, 6 shot attempts is not enough to get you in any kind of rhythm. I understand there's a pecking order but there's plenty to peck at in 48 minutes.
Derek's back up wasn't any better either. Brian Kamenetzky from the Land O' Lakers recently wrote a great article about Steve Blake's disappointing season. Click here to read the article.
So this dawns the question, who would be a great pickup this off season? I don't know about you but I'm liking Stuckey.
