A Big Easy Statement Win

Lakers bounce back and make quite a statement in the process by beating the Hornets in their own nest 103-88. From the very toss of the tip-off to the last second  the game, New Orleans never had a shot winning this game.

If there ever were back-to-back games of complete opposites, these were the ones. L.A. shot a dismal .354 FG last night but fired away a .586 FG percentage tonight. Everyone played great. Fisher 4-6; Kobe 8-14; Gasol 3-5; Bynum 8-12; Artest 2-4 and Odom went 10-15. Again, last night L.A. couldn't throw a rock in the ocean but tonight the entire team shot better than a professional skeet shooter. Both kinds of skeet shooters apply in my point making by the way.

Finally Bynum got some playing time. He had his longest game of the season thus far with just over 30 minutes resulting in a season high 18 points. But the man who stole tonight's Lake show was The Candy Man! LO scored as many as Kobe's jersey reads. And no not his throwback #8 jersey either. Gasol gets his 21st double-double of the season adding 11 pts with 12 boards.

See what happens when more than one or two players contribute? When the Lakers play as a nucleus they become that championship caliber team that the league needs to be reminded of.
