Kobe in Black Ops Commercial and the Power of Athlete Endorsement

The power of athlete endorsement or maybe Kobe just making anything look cool even when he's in the middle of a simulated video game gun battle is ever so powerful. I am the rare bunch who didn't reserve a copy of the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops video game coming out tomorrow. Now a days I don't have a lot of free time so my determination to unlock and beat every Modern Warfare 2 challenge first at my own pace before moving on to the next best shooter game is mainly the reason...until I saw this video. Damn you Kobe!

I never truly understood why big name brands dished out millions of dollars to put athletes faces on their products. I mean I would sit back and laugh at all of those suckers who would rush to get the latest and coolest endorsed shoe. The truth of the matter is I am among those suckers and have been for a while now thanks to #24. I can't help it, my eyes are drawn to whatever Kobe endorses and touches. Let me explain.

I didn't liked Sprite until I saw Kobe on their can many years ago, now I have cases of the stuff in my fridge.
I really wasn't a fan of Vitamin Water but yes I am now thanks to Kobe quenching his thirst here. I'm such a klosed sucker.
I rarely spend more than $50 on a pair of new shoes but you know I had to get me some Nike Zoom Kobe V's! $125 Bucks later and I only wear them when I go to games because they don't go with any of my other casual wear.
I've always been a fan of the NBA 2K Sports video games but when I heard that Kobe was making their 2010 cover I not only rushed to reserve my copy but I also had to reserve the "Collectors Edition". Somebody please slap me already.
Don't get me started with my Kobe wardrobe and collection of merchandise. Listen I am a grown man here whose kryptonite is wanting what the Black Mamba likes (or gets paid to like). I need KOBE counseling. K - Keep, O - On, B - Buying, E - Endorsements.
